21 communities will be receiving new equipment to support an ugrade to the current database management systems.
Rack enclosures will secure the new server system that includes a server, switch and UPS. This will give faster access speed to each school's database system as well as access without internet connection and in the event of equipment failure. Networking for each school's database will be performed in each school by the FNSSP Community Liaison Workers, with K-Net's database centre in Sioux Lookout providing backup services for each database system.
Shipment for the new equipment began last week from Sioux Lookout. The installation of the new server will be conducted in partnership between K-Net and the FNSSP Community Liaison Workers. This will take place between now and the end of the school year.
