Prezi- the new powerpoint in today's presentations and classrooms

I came across Prezi as I was trying to find new teaching strategies to deliver engaging lessons in my online high school. Prezi is basically the new and improved powerpoint of today's presentations which can be used very effectively as a teaching tool. Prezi is a web-based presentation tool that uses a map layout and zooming to show relationships between concepts as well as emphasizing the important parts of the lesson.  Whereas powerpoint uses the traditional slide to slide presentation where it follows a linear style of presenting, using Prezi allows you to leave at any point during the presentation to explore additional content. You can then return to the pathway in your Prezi presentation, just like you are when you're teaching. Hence, Prezi is much more engaging and keeps the interest of the students whereas following the linear style of the traditional powerpoint does not. Lastly, you can have students use Prezi to explore concepts, instead of lecturing at the front of the classroom. This is much more fun and I have included some links below in which you can create your own Prezi's and/or learn more about them. There are are also examples of Prezis created that you can explore as well- very neat!
