Helping others to ENROLL in the FNSSP meeting place
Good morning everyone ... For those who are presently enrolled in this FNSSP web site, I congratulate you and thank you for taking the time to work thru the steps involved in being an active member of the FNSSP team. Now the challenge is to get everyone working with the First Nation schools to become active members in this important work of supporting students across the region to be successful. Getting others to join us online at this web site, will take some time and effort from each of us but together, we can encourage and show others how to be a part of this online sharing environment. I would like to ask everyone who receives this message to begin helping others in your school to become enrolled on this web site. This task requires you to make sure everyone has an account on the Meeting Place (new accounts can be set up at http://meeting.knet.ca/mp19/login/index.php and click on CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT. Once the person has an account on the Meeting Place site, they need to go to the FNSSP site at http://meeting.knet.ca/mp19/course/view.php?id=57 and click on ENROL ME IN THIS MEETING PLACE. Let's all make it our goal to have everyone included in this sharing and learning environment. We do need to have everyone involved in order to make this project successful. Thoughts? Brian |

Good evening ... I just checked and I see there are two new members of the FNSSP team today. Thanks to those who helped these two new members to get enrolled in this online meeting space. I also received an email message that Lyle Johnson sent to all the KIHS teachers and staff inviting them to become a member of the FNSSP team. Here's hoping that everyone gets a chance to help a teacher or a school staff member to get enrolled in http://fnssp.knet.ca ... Be sure to share your story about the challenges of helping others to become part of this sharing space ... Brian |
Re: Personal Learning Networks (PLN)
Good morning ... FIVE more new members since my last post about helping other teachers in your school to enrol in this online meeting place. If we can get everyone to identify someone who should be part of this sharing circle today, then we could easily double that number and really get the type of interaction and discussions happening that will support STUDENT and SCHOOL SUCCESS in all the partner First Nation schools. I saw this online magazine today about Personal Learning Networks (PLN) ... There is a big push in education for educators to form or to have a personal learning network; a group of other professionals that you call upon for answers to our burning educational questions, for mentoring and for just someone else to talk to about our profession. From http://www.openzine.com/aspx/Zine.aspx?IssueID=11983 The online magazine and stories made me think that this FNSSP meeting place can be considered a PLN for teachers in First Nations. Are there other PLNs that the teachers in the north are using? What PLN do you use to share and ask questions of your peers? Brian |
