Hello everyone! Hard to believe how fast the year is flying by! You getting antsy and excited students because of the quickly approaching summer? Try this out!
As an online high school teacher with KiHS, I greatly support integrating technology into the classrooms, even at the Primary and Junior division levels. As modern classrooms are utilizing technology more than ever before, I thought I'd share the use of virtual field trips, as a way of integrating computer technology into your lessons. Not only is using technology offer students alternative ways to learning the curriculum, it makes your lessons much more interactive, creative, and engaging. These virtual field trips online are amazing, and allows students to explore and engage in positive learning experiences about the world outside their communities. As well, these virtual field trips are at their finger tips and very cost-effective (especially when I have student loans to still pay off, this makes "travelling" cheap! haha). While these virtual field trips are nothing new for some teachers who are already familiar with it, it also serves as a reminder or suggest how we can and should integrate more technology into our lessons at all grade and subject levels, in a time where technology is crucial in today's societies. - One great site that I found is: <http://www.theteachersguide.com/virtualtours.html>. This is a great start from Holocausts and art exhibits to virtual tours of brown bears in Alaska and natural history museums! There are many more links out there, but this site even has trips as if you are walking the Great Wall of China. Very cool! So check it out and let our youths explore. You can even create your own through these links:Teachers Helping Teachers
