Florence and I attended the ONECA conference in Toronto last week.
The conference was held downtown Toronto on Yonge St. at the Courtyard Mariott Hotel and Conference Centre. It was close to shopping, entertainment, and restaurants of all kinds!
The highlights of the adventure include seeing Dr.Eva Olsson speak about her struggle against hate and intolerance. She is a survivor of the holocaust and tells her story to discourage others from hating especially without knowing people. She also showed a documentary about how she went back to her home town to put the pieces of her story together. The presentation was impacting, terrifying and heartwarming, leaving few dry eyes in the crowd. A must-see for anyone who has the chance!
There were also workshops from Turtle Concepts which were lively, forward-thinking and high-energy as well as many other presentors. The hotel was wonderful clean and friendly.
The conference had individual counselling, massages and refreshments for everyone involved- a very good experience for anyone interested in attending!!!!
