Our students are constantly being bombarded with messages from the media. This link has lesson plans designed around the Special K campaign on body image. It is really interesting to see the reactions of our students when you discuss body image. My students did not seem to think that body image had any effect on their lives. The discussions in a body image unit help to create the building blocks of critical thinking by creating awareness for your students of how the media plays on people’s feelings. Check this out it is really cool for both males and females to discuss.
