Hi all,

Sometimes it is difficult to locate cultural websites for classroom resources, here are a few to consider:

http://www.pathoftheelders.com/index.php

-I highly recommend the video clips (some have English subtitles, some are in English) and using the search button to narrow your search, topics ranging from how to prepare traditional foods, legends to dating! This website features Treaty 9 (James Bay coast) history, documentation, excellent! There is a teachers history guide, grades 4-10.

www.fourdirectionteachings.com

-This website contains cultural teachings from Elders from five First Nations - MIkmaq, Mohawk, Ojibwe, Blackfoot and Cree. The website is very interactive and the information is share from an Elder. Users are able to view in English.

www.histori.ca

-This website offers many video clips and lesson plan ideas relating to many historical and contemporary Aboriginal issues. The lessons are broken down into divisions/grades and are for all time periods.

Meegwetch! Desta
