I've posted an interesting report in the reference material database which I feel is relevant to the work we are doing. In Australia, all education systems are being challenged to 'close the gap' between Indigenous and non-Indigenous student outcomes. Developed from a partnership between the Queensland Government and Indigenous leaders and educators, this report outlines a strategic plan to halve the gap for Indigenous students in reading, writing and numeracy within a decade and halve the gap for Indigenous students in Year 12 attainment or equivalent attainment by 2020. It's interesting that although we are across the globe, we are striving for the same outcome: Every day, in every classroom, every student is learning and achieving. |
