Chief Matt has invited several groups to visit his community Nov 15-18, 2010. we are fortunate to have some exciting project in the First Nation to be aprt of including: Governance Strategic Planning - community meeting and workshop to create a governance plan - lead (Donald Meekis) Lands Planning - training with lands workers at the ecentre and community meeting - lead (Irene Miles/John Wabano) Polar Bear Study - open house combined with lands community meeting and sharing at the school - lead (Julie Miles) VideoCom |

Eli & Cal, What was the purpose of the KIHS production? could we support the KIHS project by bringing up the video to the community and showing it at the school? Should Kathleen present the video? |

Franz, The purpose of the video was to document a hands-on, on-the-land component of a KiHS Science course incorporating some traditional knowledge and skills. As far as I am concerned, showing the video at the school would be a great idea. Kathleen was heavily involved in the logistics and three of her students participated, so it would be good if she presented it. I have not seen it yet. Eli |
