Peter Garrowhas been the Director of Education, Jurisdiction and Governance for the Assembly of First Nations since 2005.  Prior to this, Peter was the Director of Education for the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education for eight years.  He has held senior positions in many government organizations including appointment as the Federal Representative of the Mushuau Innu (Davis Inlet) Renewal Committee and Director of Consultation and Specific Claims (INAC).  Peter is a member of the Mohawks of Akwesasne - Bear Clan, married to wife Harriet (Turtle Clan) for almost 40 years and has three sons (Turtle Clan) and three granddaughters (2 Bear Clan and 1 Snipe Clan) and a grandson (so the Garrow name will live on).

DL Darren Lentz has extensive experience working with First Nations students in Ontario's north. He developed an Outdoor Education programme in Fort Hope First Nation and developed a traditional skills programme, traditional technology programme and a science camp at Pelican Falls School, a First Nations high school in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Currrently working at Queen Elizabeth District High School in Sioux Lookout, he lead the implementation of an indigenous curriculum model to teach a traditional tech and outdoor education in the public school system. Darren has presented at numerous conferences and was recognized with a provincial award for teaching and for the integration of culturally responsive curriculum. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and has completed a MEd. His students work has been recognized in museums, post secondary institutions and on CBC and APTN.

PB Pam Burton is a member of Sagamok First Nation.  She is a graduate from LakeheadUniversity where she received a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. She is currently working part time towards a Masters of Education with a research interest in First Nations Education.  Pam has a strong background of teaching experience, curriculum design/development, and education consulting services.  She has worked with First Nations organizations and communities for over 5 years to develop culturally appropriate curriculum,  including Nishnawbe Aski Nation (History and Legacy of Residential Schools) and Matawa First Nations Management (Teaching Treaties in the Classroom and Substance Use and Abuse).  She now works with the Chiefs of Ontario (COO) as the Aboriginal Health Human Resources Initiative Coordinator.

RM Roy Morris is the project coordinator of Kwayaciiwin Education Resource Centre in Sioux Lookout. Kwayaciiwin creates culturally appropriate curriculum for First Nations school in the Sioux Lookout district. For the last 30 years, education has been a major part of Roy’s life first as a student counselor, teacher, principal, education director and as a developer of Anishinini curriculum materials. He is an accomplished artist. Roy is a member of Muskrat Dam First Nation.
