Using Math TeX filter
by Kevin Dempsey - Thursday, 26 April 2012, 09:01 AM

Hi,

We're playing around in our current site (1.9) with using math filters for converting code/text to GIFs. It works okay there. It doesn't work in Moodle 2 right now. I think it must be a filter that needs to be activated. Can you help with this Fernando?

Here's the writeup about TeX notation: http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Using_TeX_Notation.

It sounds like these might also be interesting to try: http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Advanced_Maths_Tools

Can you let us know how to do this?

Thanks

Hi Kevin,

Feel free to activate the filters you need at Site Admin > Plugins > Filters. TeX notation is something I've been meaning to test out. Pls let us know how it goes.

Thanks, I turned it on.

In both 1.9 and Moodle 2, the basic conversion works, but it does not recognize code for font size, colour, etc (taken from: http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Using_TeX_Notation_2)

It would be good to be able to control colour, font size etc, as the default is slightly low quality resolution.
