Business Case Update
by Franz Seibel - Tuesday, 26 February 2008, 10:27 AM

The business case will describe the Community Cellular Network community-directed and owned business process, scalable technical structure and financial sustainability. It will tell the story of the pilot project and identify social and economic benefits. The evidence-based business case will be designed during the construction and implementation phases of the project. Community partners will be able to use the business case as a template to create their business processes and make recommendations to the business case. Communities will be able to evaluate the community’s readiness of joining the network by reviewing the business case. The key components of the business case are outlined below:

· Business Description
· Market Analysis
· Management Structure
  § Community Development
· Operations
  § Network Structure
· Opportunities and Risks
  § Economic and Social Impact
· Financial Projections
. Business Case Templates

Financial Forecast: Drydenet Roaming Rates
by Franz Seibel - Thursday, 28 February 2008, 01:04 PM

Drydent provides roaming rates on its webstie

$0.20/minute in Canada
$0.25/minute outside Canada (U.S. rates vary)

Each cellular service area has a Roamer Access Number that allows you to reduce long distance charges, both yours and those that call you. The local Roamer Access Number can be obtained by calling *811 in Canada or *711 in the USA, wherever you happen to be. If the caller dials the Roamer Access Number first (it is a local call), and then your cellular number, including area code, neither you nor the caller will pay a toll charge.

Updated Business Case (Dec 08) & Summary. Word versions are available upon request if you would like to adapt the plan to fit your community's unique needs. The Plan is an example that can be used as a discussion tool to see what your community needs to get started and what operations may look like in the first 10 years.
