ELDER Project meeting place configuration
by Michael Mak - Tuesday, 12 October 2010, 12:27 AM

Greetings,

My name is Michael and I'm currently an intern at K-NET, and have also started a moodle page for the ELDER project (elderproject.knet.ca).

I have a few questions regarding Moodle:

  • I think I accidently deleted the "enrol me" side bar on most meeting places, is there a way to get it back?
  • For the books, is there anyway to get the text on the table of contents any larger?
  • Is there a way to decorate the top header for the site?

Thanks for all your help!

Michael Mak

Hello Michael,

The "enrol me" link sits inside the Admin block. I see that the block is still there, but not the link. Not sure why that is, but I will take a closer look. Any ideas about what you were doing when this link went missing?

As for the font in the book activity and changing the header, this is related to the theme that you are using. If you want to make custom changes to the theme, you will need to do so by editing the HTML and/or CSS files in the theme directory. Note, however, that you will need to work from a copy of the theme so as not to alter the default. Jesse created a custom theme for FNSSP Meeting Place, so he might be able to give you some pointers. Let me know if you want me to sent you the theme.

Thanks,
Fernando

Hi Michael,

The problem with the enrolment link has been fixed. The Elder site was set up as a "meta course", which was effecting how enrolment was processed.

By the way, I created a copy of the Elder site for testing purposes. Content is the same but i moved some things around and switched to the "FN Tabs" course format and the "MP_Active" theme.
Thought you might want to see it just to evaluate the different setup. Here it is: http://meeting.knet.ca/mp19/course/view.php?id=70

Thanks,
Fernando
