I like the idea of polling student to identify their learning styles. The LSTest module seems to do a good job, but the current list of questions is in Spanish and, from what I can tell, it's geared to a college/university crowd. New questions would have to be written up for elementary and high school students. This mod is installed in Test Course 1 and can be downloaded here. Alternativley, Mahara has a similar feature, which you can access by doing the following:
I still have to play around with it to see what it can do, but I like the idea of keeping this feature in the portfolio section. |

Hi Fernando, I was reading up on the module and they said that the questions were developed for the undergrad and above level like you mentioned. It would be useful for some of our high school courses like GLS1O which has a learning styles activity already. It would be much nicer to have on directly on Moodle because the sites we use now have other external information on the pages like advertisements and sign-up requirements which make the pages not as accessible as they could be. Plus, if we made up our own questions for the elementary or secondary level, we could exclude questions that weren't relevant to them, or edit the language to make it more suitable to their age. |
