by Brian Beaton - Monday, 3 May 2010, 09:44 AM

Good morning ... I just posted a press release in the documents library from the Trillium Foundation called "Aboringinal Communities Profile in NWO". It references the study recently completed about the Aboriginal population in this region.

Thanks, Brian. The Trillium Foundation has divided Northern Ontario into three sub-sets, and three reports.  You have referenced the summary of the Northwest Ontario report. You can also go to http://www.trilliumfoundation.org/aboriginal/highlights/ab_intro.html to access a number of Ontario reports in full (PDF), including options to download PowerPoint presentations. The report that highlights section #2, or Algoma (including Sault Ste. Marie), Cochrane, Manitoulin, Sudbury may be accessed at  (http://trilliumfoundation.org/Your_Community_in_Profile/english/reports_pdf/ACMS%20Community%20Profile.pdf. A Section #3 report (including North Bay to Kirkland Lake) is there too.

In addition, the Environics Institute has released a national "Urban Aboriginal Peoples Study", which may be accessed at http://uaps.ca/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/UAPS-FULL-REPORT.pdf.
