Results of the poll and planning for the event
by Brian Beaton - Thursday, 15 April 2010, 04:03 PM

Hello all,

The poll has concluded and the preferred date for a face to face meeting for the NCTR group appears to be April 26th. This meeting will be held in Sault Ste. Marie at Algoma University in Room NW 200 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm . The conference will also be accessible to participants who are using regular conference call and Video conference through Knet.

Please indicate whether you are able to come in person, by video, or phone, to assist me in the organizational aspects of this meeting.

Further information regarding the meeting and agenda will be sent out shortly.

Warm Regards,

Robert Rawn

Robert ... I will be joining this gathering by videoconference from my office in Sioux Lookout.

I will be a little late in attending due to a previous engagement but I will be there for the afternoon portion.

Looking forward to this meeting.

Brian

Hi everybody,

In terms of the work ahead, I would strongly recommend that we invite Dr. Susan O'Donnell of the National Research Council to speak of her experiences with research involving community broadband use and successful funding applications with SSHRC.  In partnership with KO, she has written numerous successful funding applications but more importantly she has developed and maintained a strong and on-going relationship with many First Nations communities who she and her team have worked with not only in Ontario's far north but in Atlantic Canada and Quebec.  Her comments might provide us with a lense to proceed with our own work.

Hi everyone,

Stacia already responded on my behalf but not through this format.  I will attend by video conferencing from PARO.  I will need the call in video conferencing number or other information pertinent to the call.

I also will be stepping out for a team meeting at 12 noon and another meeting at about 3 PM.  Looking forward to the meeting.  Roz
