Warren Weir
by Warren Weir - Sunday, 28 March 2010, 01:01 PM

Good day.  My name is Warren Weir, and I am looking forward to participating in this project, and meeting everyone.  I will be moving from Saskatoon to Sault Ste. Marie next week, to begin work with all of the the fabulous folks at Algoma University and NORDIK. I have been involved in Indigenous economic development, business and education for the past 20 years, and am a founding member of the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (CANDO).  I currently sit on CANDO's education and journal committees, and edit CANDO's Journal of Aboriginal Economic Development (JAED). I have taught at and worked with the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (BC), Chemainus Native College (BC), Royal Roads University (BC), University of Saskatchewan (SK), and Cape Breton University (NS). My current interests include community-based strategic planning readiness, Indigenous entrepreneurship, and Aboriginal corporate citizenship.

Welcome to northern Ontario Warren.

Hopefully this project will give everyone the opportunity to spend some quality time in some of the remote First Nations to learn from the people who have always been here.

Brian

Good Day, My name is Franz and I work with Keewaytinook Okimakanak at the Thunder Bay Research Department. We have been directed by the chiefs to support partner First Nations in their community-led research to find information for communities to make informed decisions. I enjoy visiting the network of Community-based Researchers and Technicians throughout the North and keeping in touch with them through video conference.
