Hi, I present myself : As a teacher in a french primary school, with 8 to 11 years old pupils in multi-age class, since 4 years I've intended to integrate digital resources dedicated to apprenticeship and teaching with Moodle, -through http://virelibre.eu- and been an active member on Moodle french community. From now on, I dedicate myself to evangelize the use of Moodle to South France teachers engaged in popular education through associations : ICEM-Pédagogie Freinet & OCCE - "Organisation Centrale de la Coopération à l'Ecole" : http://cooperer.moodlelab.fr. And last, I'm the promoter of newly born http://ateliers.moodlelab.fr site, which tends to offer the french speaking community a collaborative site dedicated to experiment pedagogic principles with Moodle and web 2.0 tools. I've kept an eye on FN approach to customize Moodle because your sound constant collective endeavour to adress another public with on-line collaborative tool is a reference to me. I have some work to do to progressively integrate some of FN tools in my sites. This month, I just did not succeed to tune FN RGP : my parameters and what I obtain : a text representation of the url, not a photo. I can't imagine why the problem, if not some Gallery additionnal module which I don't dont know well. Moodle 1.9.5+ Gallery v2.3, remote, GD & ImageMagick installed OK PHP and MySQL OK for Moodle 2.0 Thank you for your help.  |

Hi Fred, Good to hear that your Moodle work is going well! There sure are a lot of people and organizations who are turning to Moodle lately. As for the gallery block, you need to remove all text in front of "main.php" in the URL and put the ItemID (which is the album that you would like to showcase) in "id" block below. Hi Fernando, thank you for prompt answer. I understand I doubted about the "pix" in variable name "bloc_fn_gallery_pix_url". In fact, I get another error, displayed in bloc window, related to Gallery host or parameter : "HTTP 200 OK", when I address http://eiko.virelibre.eu/main.php?g2_itemId=22 I checked register globals to be off and magic quotes to be on by an .htaccess file in gallery directory. I'm looking after that problem on Gallery forums and will report here. If by any chances you would know ??? Can you check your Gallery admin page (not Moodle admin) at... Site Admin > Modules > Blocks > and make sure that "Image Block" is active. /Fernando |

Hi Fernando, So good to hear from you. Apparently, I do not receive or percieve post notifications. I renewed my subscription. Sorry for late answer. In fact, I was back again to check you site adress, because I'm to give pieces of information about Moodle, to a scholar group, South of France, which have contacted me to chose it. I want to let them know your job, which could be much adapted to elementary school. Would you permit me to ask you later questions about your interface ? Relatively to Moodle->Gallery, you guessed perfectly ! Thanks a lot Fernando ! Thanks to your development and advices, I got a perfect image system after 4 years without ! No nothing  .Fred |

Sorry, my lean english practice might induce misexpression / misinterpretation ; in any circumstances, I feel grateful to you for your job, which I'm to promote in France, should Moodle be introduced into primary schools, so forgive my future uncertain expressions.  Fernando, is it technically and painlessly possible to obtain a, say a*b wall of Random Gallery Images on central Moodle part, thanks to labels or something else ? |
