Received another short call from Sasha this morning...
The group arrived in Michipicoten First Nation on Friday and spent two nights there where they fasted, had some ceremonies and a feast with the community. Much thanks to the people of Michipicoten for your hospitality! Sunday they left towards Sault St. Marie, some members of Michipicoten joined them for this walk.
The group camped outside of Sault St. Marie last night and are walking there today where they might stay a couple days. Their stay is being extended here because of the amount of people and media who wish to speak with them. Please note that the schedule will be delayed because of this longer stay in SSM.
Tonight, Monday May 12, at Algoma University the walkers will be speaking to the public about the walk at 7pm. If you are interested in going, make your way down to the university... there should be signs posted to let you know where they will be.
Boujou, Thats great news!!!! I spoke with Isadore Day this morning and Serpent River is planning a dinner this Wednesday evening from 6pm to 10pm at the community hall and hoping we can all be there together. I know the effort must be great to walk with that many people where it is just me and my Mother-in-Law in the support van. Some periodic walkers at times but we are planning to make it there for then and hoping you all can too. We are in Sudbury this evening and had a great day. Spoke with Shawanaga, Magnetewan and Henvy Inlet First Nations and let them know you all would be coming through soon, they are excited. I let Whitefish and Sagamuk know too on my way to Serpent River. If you are on the way, maybe we can arrange a bus for pick up but we should talk if possible to arrange some plans and if it is all in Creators plan we'll see I guess. I received a call from CBC Radio this morning too and they would like to interview us when we meet and do a story on the story of the two simultaneous journeys meeting along the way...Jodie Porter is her name, she is going to contact me again on Wednesday evening. All good stuff, I will be thinking of all of you and its great to have the chance to share the words form your heart. Call my cell anytime at 289-213-3374 or call Isadore Day at 705-844-2415. Can't wait to hear from you and finally meet Talk soon, Baamaa Pii, Pakane
