Hi All I just got a call from Sasha. The walkers arrived in Pays Plat yesterday, where they were welcomed by the community. They had a nice supper and afterwards went to the powwow grounds to perform a blessing ceremony in thanks. A sacred fire was also lit.
Yesterday they were met by some Friends of Grassy Narrows on their way to Montreal. The Friends brought them water and food. Thank you very much!
This morning it is raining but they are still heading out... whatever the weather, they still walk on their journey. Today they will stop in Heron Bay where there are already plans to meet them. Tomorrow they stop in Pic Mobert/White River.
One walker commented on the rainy weather and the fact that they are still continuing on, saying that this journey is very much like each person's (healing) journey in life. No matter what obstacles you encounter, you still go on to your destination!
Hello, I'm grateful to the walkers and add my prayers each day. We'd like to join them on the weekend of the 24th and walk into Toronto. Is there talk of a meeting place?
I'm an ally with the Ardoch Algonquins in the Sharbot Lake region. We have strong settler and Algonquin communities working together to stop the uranium mine and protect earth.....standing up with all peace makers and peace walkers doing what's from our hearts >>>>>>>>
Migwetch to the Grassy Narrows walkers for doing this, Sulyn
