Shoes needed
by Peggy Smith - Sunday, 4 May 2008, 11:43 AM

From Steve Fobister at Grassy Narrows: Does anyone out there know how, where and when shoes can be donated for this Mother Earth walk? They sure are breaking in shoes everyday, I guess. Practically all these youth doing this long walk are on welfare back in the community. The community has donated the van and other daily needs also. It sure would be helpful if you get your sources to see what they can do. Contact me at gsfobister@hotmail.com. I also want to stress that maybe those First Nations along the route can arrange a security check on the walkers because these young people are in a strange territory and they feel so alone when all these OPP people are not treating them with any regard or understanding.... Hi folks. People in Winnipeg are starting to collect gear and donations for the walk. Some important questions, though:

If we can get/buy shoes and socks, what sizes do you need? Please list them.

Also, you mentioned you had camera problems. If you email me with the details I might be able to help.

There will be people periodically travelling east from Winnipeg during the walk and they will be bringing some supplies. In the meantime, safe journey.

Hi Thor and everyone,

we have a KOdak EasyShare C713

camera, but dont have the USB cable....

also, barb and rafael have taken videos and pics(they are back to kenora). however, the mac computer we tried to transfer them to  didnt recognize the files....we tried to install a converter software; however, there was only a demo version for that. and  it limited us to 25MB of a video file....

we may have to wait until we have access to PC and time

to choose the right files to post. would be nice to have a full-time  editor/computer person  wink

or a laptop, but in a way it can be seen as an opportunity  to reconnect to the real world, and take a break from the virtual one.   lol  tongueout

cheers,

S
