Teaching Content That Is More Culturally and Locally Relevant Through The Use Of Technology.
This PowerPoint is a useful tool to give a starting point for teachers wanting to incorporate more culturally appropriate material inside their classrooms. It was created by Anne Andreassen of Poplar Hill. Thanks Anne for the insight.
Leading a good life
The following website gives great advice to primary/junior students on how to lead a good life. It provides advice using the medicine whell when making a life choice. It is a great format for social studies. Please check this site!

The next site focuses on the older students. The advice the site gives on how to lead a good life focuses on the Seven Grandfather teachings. Teenage students would benefit from this part of the site.
WBTT (Web-based Teaching Tool)
The Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario owns WBTT: the Web-based Teaching Tool. The on-line resource allows teachers of Kindergarten and Grade 1 to identify students who may encounter difficulties in Literacy and Numeracy. It identifies the areas in which weaknesses exist and provides strategies that can be used to address these areas. Detailed information about the program can be found at"ldao.ca/WBTT".
