In 2007 and 2008, Keewaytinook Okimakanak, KORI and the Canadian Cancer Foundation (Ontario) hosted a series of workshops on Breast Cancer Awareness. During these workshops, speakers shared shared resources, links and suggestions about how to reduce the risk of breast cancer and check for early warning signs.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women. In 2006, over 22,000 (1 in 9) women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,300 will die of it. The breast cancer mortality rate is at its lowest since 1950. There is a lot you can do to reduce your risk of breast cancer.
