Youth Employment 2013-14

I have had a wonderful experience working at the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education. I worked primarily in the AMBE office, where I was able to work alongside their wonderful team.

I introduced social media which helped the schools shine light on all the great activities and initiatives they do on a yearly basis. I attended their events and photographed and recorded the activities to share on our AMBE Facebook page and website. My biggest accomplishment was the our Post Secondary Page on our website. I worked with the coordinator to update the documents on the page and to make it as resourceful as possible for our Post Secondary Students who are away attending college. We've heard great reviews on the content of the page, so I'm glad that it's beneficial for the students.

My goal from the start of this program was to bring life to the AMBE website. It has now grown in visitation, and the content is updated on a day to day basis to keep it lively and active. I will be leaving this program with some great experience with working in Word Press. Which in the future will help me if I ever have to format a website.

All in all it was a great experience for me. It opened my eyes to what a wonderful education system we have on the territory and it can only get better from here! I look forward to seeing AMBE grow!
