Monday, January 20th - Today i figured out i was doing the website stuff all wrong to begin with, because i had no guidance as to what to do. So i found out i was supposed to register the school with the firstnationschool.ca website in order to get a hosting account and domain name. I got Cathy to fill out and fax in the K-net Web Hosting Service Agreement so I can begin working on the website using Dupal. Waiting on a domain name and hosting account to begin.
Tuesday, January 21st - Got on the right track with my firstnationschool.ca got the e-mail back stating my admin name and password. Did some research on the school and how to use drupal, it is a very complicated program. I sent out a couple questions to the community members via-web about the history and got great feedback once again. I also discovered a book in the school library that was written by Nathanael Reed called "Goodbyes Along The Way- The People and Stories of Mattagami First Nation" and i researched him and found his e-mail. I e-mailed him about his book and if i can use some of his pictures in my website.
Wednesday, January 22nd - went to the hospital with a bad migraine.
Thursday, January 23rd - Tried to fix the internet and connect the Ipads at the school all morning, tried to get the Band offices IT guy to come help me diagnose what the issue was. He finally came at lunch hour to fix it. In the afternoon Jesse Fiddler came back to the community to help train me a bit and give me guidance as to how to begin using Drupal. So trained with him all afternoon.
Friday, January 24th - Set up the Ipads for a teacher and got them all connected to the internet. Downloading educational apps, as per her request, since the internet is back up and running. Got E-mail back from Nat Reed, he gave me the go ahead to use his book and pictures for anything on the website and I can contact him with any questions i may have about his experiences here in the community. Afternoon, I am going to be continuing to work on the website.

happy weekend!
