Federal and First Ministers meeting on digital economy strategy | |
Mar. 19, 2012 Minister Paradis (Industry Canada) and Minister Hamad (Quebec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and Minister responsible for the National Capital Region) co-chaired an economic development ministers' meeting on the Digital Economy in Montréal. According to the Industry Canada press release: The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to providing access to broadband service in Canada needed for success in today's digital world, especially in areas of low population density... The ministers asked the working groups to continue their efforts with regard to digital infrastructure mapping and raising awareness of the significant productivity benefits of adopting digital technologies. They also made a commitment to continue working with the information and communications technology industry to seek potential solutions to its skills challenges. Read the full press release here. |
