The 1st Mile has been discussing and promoting First Mile connectivity development in the United States.

Based in New Mexico, the 1st mile website hosts several interesting and useful resources, including:

• Description of the 1st Mile, and of 1st Mile initiatives in New Mexico;

• Resources, including documents, articles, state and community initiatives, and national (and international) examples referenced to 1st-Mile broadband efforts;
• Events;
• Proposed Action Plan [draft] for a New Mexico-based 1st Mile institute, conferences and other resources
