KI leadership remain jailed for contempt arising out of struggle to protect traditional lands
by Brian Walmark- - Friday, 28 March 2008, 11:57 AM

KI leaders remain in jail for contempt arising from the First Nations continuing struggle to protect their traditional lands from mining development… This morning CBC Radio reported that Ontario’s Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and NAN Grand Chief Stan Beardy met with jailed KI Chief Donny Morris… To see other media stories about the KI struggle, click here… KI has been extremely effective at using communication tools to draw national attention to its struggle over natural resources control… The national media is now covering this story closely… Is anyone aware of other First Nations using communication tools so effectively to draw attention to their priorities?  If so, can you identify them?
