Greetings, everyone! The community researchers from our project met in Sioux Lookout on on May 6 & 7 to plan for the upcoming conference in Winnipeg. During our time there, they said they wanted to visit Wawatay, Kwayaciiwin and KNET to see what they do and how they involve language. Everyone at these organizations made us feel like royalty, hosting us, spending time with us, being very attentive to the issues of Indigenous languages. Miigwetch, Miigwetch, Kitchi Miigwetch! to these organizations. Especially to Brian Beaton and KNET for letting us do our work in their facilities while we were there. We needed to be able to connect to the internet easily; we needed to be able to project our images onto a screen; and we needed to have audio. KNET went over and beyond just letting us use the facilities; they provided us with coffee, tea, water and snacks (and healthy ones, too). They made us truly feel at home. The community researchers wanted you to know, Brian, how much they appreciated your generous and kind hospitality.
