There is an explicit and implicit curriculum taught in the public schools, that is, we are taught English, math and science (explicit curriculum) and values such as being on time, of competition and completing assignments when they are due (implicit curriculum).  But there are some things that are not taught in the curriculum, the so-called Null Curriculum, such as economics and media literacy.

What are some of the lessons that First Nations students will not learn in the public school system which they need to know that could be developed in a culturally appropriate curriculum?
