The value of information coming from First Nation elders, leaders and community members...
by Brian Beaton - Tuesday, 11 November 2008, 11:26 AM

Hey  Brian ... thanks for the invite to this session. I do hope it is well attended ... it is such an important topic!

One discussion topic concerning Indigenous Knowledge, is the need to respect and recognize the value of information coming from First Nation elders, leaders and community members. I would hope that the "art" of "creating culturally appropriate curriculum" is more about inviting, involving and honouring Indigenous Knowledge rather than simply imposing and enforcing urban and institutional policies and guidelines ....
