Creation of a Joint Research Consortium Announcement

You are invited to participate in the creation of a Joint Research Consortium to study the impacts of broadband migration and information technologies in the remote northern communities of Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

Keewaytinook Okimakanak is proud to be one of the three strategic partners of the Northern Indigenous Community Satellite Network (NICSN), a unique and innovative undertaking supporting the effective use of satellite delivered broadband telecommunication services in over 40 remote satellite served communities.

The on-line gathering will take place on Friday, September 26 with IP video conferencing sites in Ottawa, Toronto, Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout. You can also access the gathering through streaming video.

This workshop is organized by KORI and hosted on the premises of Telesat in Ottawa. Technical support is also provided by Telesat and K-Net to the other sites and individuals that are joining the conference online and via video-conference.
