K'atl'odeeche First Nation Fiber Optic Construction (2011)
Tuesday, 29 October 2013, 05:16 PM In 2011, Katlodeeche First Nation completed the construction of its local broadband fiber optic network. This short four minute video documents the project. It was shot on location and edited by KFN's IT Project Manager, Lyle Fabian.

B.C. Communities prepare for National Satellite Initiative Transition
Monday, 18 March 2013, 11:23 AM In British Columbia, the First Nations Emergency Services Society of BC (FNESS), the First Nations’ Technology Council (FNTC), and a satellite service provider, Norsat International Inc. have provided 17 remote First Nations satellite-served communities with Internet access since 2008. As of March 31, 2014, the NSI funding is scheduled to end. This has resulted in the need for communities in B.C. to consider how to undertake this transaction. FNTC is working with various First Nations to manage this longevity planning. Read more...

A Different Spin on Development

A Different Spin is a video production project established in 2000 by John Kerr. This project trains youth and local residents to film and produce videos in various First Nation communities in northern British Columbia. The idea for A Different Spin came through the Tatlayoko Think Tank (TTT) project – a community development initiative started by Kerr in 1990. Read more...

MyKnet is a free online social networking site that was created in 1998. The website originally was a mutation of a stand-alone Bulletin Board system that operated since 1994.
