Khangman

Subject Area: Literacy, Language

Recommended Grade Levels: 1 - 6

Khangman is the classic hangman game, where the child should guess a world letter by letter. AT each miss, the picture of a hangman appears. After 10 tries, if the word is not guessed, the game is over and the answer is displayed. Hints can be given to help you guess the word, and there are at least 4 categories per language: easy, medium, hard and animals which contain only animal nouns.

How can KHangman help?

KHangman, like Kanagram, is a word game that provides opportunities for students to practice word association and spelling. Playing word games develops student awareness of rhyme and word patterns, and stimulates inquisitiveness about the meaning of words. Word games like hangman have been effectively used before to support Ontario student success in literacy, and KHangman brings this success to the computer lab.
