KiHS SSHRC Research Project
(KiHS Rearch Project)

Keewaytinook Okimakanak and the Faculty of Education of Lakehead University have been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to explore First Nations digital education with a particular emphasis on the Keewaytinook Internet High School (KiHS). The project is lead by Dr. Seth Agbo of the Department of Life Long Learning at Lakehead. The project team includes KORI's Brian Walmark and LU Faculty members John O'Meara and Lisa Korteweg. The research team is adopting a Participatory Action Research (PAR) methology to ensure that the priorities of First Nations communities which choose to partner in this project are paramount.
